Flying from Zurich, Switzerland, to Singapore, Alex and I had a 7h layover in Paris, France. Part of that time was lost between getting out of the airport, getting into the city and all the way back, but in total we got around 3 1/2h in Paris.
Our goal was to see as many representative monuments as possible.
We hopped on the metro to Zone 1 and made our way to Notre Dame. We couldn’t see it up close, because of the renovations it’s undergoing after the fire of the 15th of April 2019, but we could see it from a distance. We ate a delicious vegetarian kebab-style wrap in a little bakery. It’s no big place, but the pastries and bread they make there are worth looking for this hidden bakery! It has no name on the front, so I can’t tell you exactly how to find it, you will need luck on your side!
Getting on the metro not long after our lunch, we made our way to the Eiffel Tower. Being the most iconic building in France, we couldn’t miss it. We had no time to go up, but only taking a picture from Champ the Mars.
It doesn´t seem like much, but by this time we had no more than an hour left in Paris, before going back to the airport. That meant one more thing to see and that was the Arc de Triomphe. We went running there and since you can´t get to the arc itself unless you pay, we chose a spot just between two car lines to take our picture.
It was a really tight schedule, especially because we wanted to make a video of dancing through Paris, that I will link below, but it was so much fun running around and trying to cram everything in our 3 ½ hours. So if you happen to have a layover in Paris and are up to an adventure, get out and make it your goal to see as much monuments as possible.
